Accumulated copper ions play a key role in deactivating and eroding biofilm over time, which is the primary breeding ground for Legionella bacteria and the source of widespread colonization. Copper is crucial for ensuring the long-term effectiveness of biocide application and Legionella control.

The copper and silver ionization method, further developed by Holland Water in the HW Bifipro®, is also 'smart.' Advanced equipment, such as the flow meter that accurately measures water flow (including peak flows), works in conjunction with the patented current control to ensure precise amounts of copper and silver ions are added to the water. If necessary, the HW Bifipro® can be adjusted.
This allows the water quality to be continuously monitored and archived, not only by the system operator but also remotely by Holland Water experts.
