As the world gathered for Expo 2020 Dubai, a global celebration of innovation, Holland Water proudly showcased its sustainable water solutions. A significant challenge emerged: ensuring the safety and quality of drinking water for a massive influx of visitors while simultaneously minimizing the environmental impact of plastic water bottles.
Holland Water addressed this challenge with its advanced HW Bifipro® systems. These innovative systems, utilizing a safe and proven method called copper-silver ionization, were strategically installed at 23 locations across the sprawling Expo site. This technology continuously delivers controlled doses of copper and silver ions into the water supply, effectively eliminating harmful bacteria like Legionella without the need for harsh chemicals or excessive heat. The result? Clean, safe drinking water is readily available to every Expo visitor.
Holland Water’s commitment extended beyond just functionality. In the Dutch Pavilion, the Holland Water Bar served as a beacon of sustainability. Here, visitors could experience firsthand the quality and taste of tap water treated with the HW Bifipro® system. This innovative approach aimed to change perceptions and promote tap water as a safe and pleasant alternative to bottled water, ultimately leading to a significant reduction in plastic waste production.
